The Arc Alliance serves you and our community in many ways. The Arc Alliance Children’s Services provides speech and communication therapies, hearing support, physical and occupational therapy and educational transition supports. The Arc Alliance Advocacy Services aids families and individuals with individualized education plans (IEP), residential and vocational issues, money management and complete program and service reviews. These are just a few of the excellent services and support The Arc Alliance and its associated agencies provide.
The hidden gems that The Arc Alliance makes available, which are sometimes overlooked, are the additional support groups and family training opportunities that are extremely important in the life of the family and community.
Groups are free and open to all families of children with special needs. All groups usually meet at The Arc Alliance building at 3075 Ridge Pike Eagleville, PA.
- Father’s Group – usually meets first and third Saturdays each month September through May from 10am to noon. Open to all fathers who have a child with special needs. Find support, resources, and fun for you and your children! This group is made possible with support from the Dolfinger-McMahon Foundation. Child care provided- children are welcome! - Sibling Group - Come join the group and meet kids just like you. Do you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or teased? Or do you want to share your story with a group of kids that can relate to your family situation? Come join the Siblings Group and have fun and enjoy meeting kids that understand. Learn some skills to help you deal with situations that come up in your life and how to show others that your special needs sibling is unique and worth getting to know. The Group meets the last Thursday of each month, June through Sept from 6-7:30 pm. Please contact – firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
- Down Syndrome Play Group – if you have a baby or toddler that has Down syndrome and want to meet other families for a play group, come join us on the second Friday of each month (Sept. through May) from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. While the kids play the Moms have time to share information and be a support to each other. Having someone know exactly how you are feeling makes such a difference and knowing that you are dealing with the same milestones and goals will be so helpful while your child is having fun with other children.
