Meaning “dry line,” a Spanish method of applycove base ing glazes that are separated by a fine line of wax resist. The wax burns off during firing, keeping the glaze separate and the clay exposed. Delft tile. A well-known traditional white and blue tile originally produced in Holland. Dot. A dot often refers to a 2" to 3" tile that is placed in a field of larger tiles.

As they start to touch, the clay becomes leather-hard. There is still sufficient water to allow you to reshape the clay. 3. As the gaps between the clay particles close, it becomes more difficult for the water to migrate to the surface. It is at this point that the drying process starts to slow down. 4.
