The Basics 45 5 To make the pouch, you will need to create a piece of easy duct tape fabric (see page 27) connected to each of the Ziploc closures. Stick a piece of tape ¼ inch wider than the width of the closure to the folded-over strips you made in step 4, overlapping by ¼ inch. Continue making your easy duct tape fabric hanging down from the closure until you reach the desired length.  Trim slightly within the edges of the closure to make sure you get a clean edge.  You now have 2 pieces of Ziploc closure fabric.

2 Open up the ends of the fan in a circle until they meet. 3 Using a small strip of tape in a matching color, tape the two ends of the strip together. 1 2 3 VARY THE WIDTHS V ary the size of the rosettes by varying the widths of the sticky strips. TIP!  Tape the folded-over edge in place with tape in a matching color and trim any excess tape. 5 Place a small square of tape in a matching color in the center of the back of the rosette. Using the scissors, cut tiny slits in the edges of the square of tape between each valley fold.

It doesn’t rip as easily and has a plastic quality to it, but it costs less than Duck brand does. T ape Brothers: This economical duct tape works well and comes in 60- yard rolls, but it comes only in colors, not in patterns.  It also comes only in colors, not in patterns.  It’s both durable and flexible. Mylar tape: This tape is supershiny, but it’s very thin and should be used only for embellishing your projects. Packing tape: Although this isn’t a great tape for every project, it makes a really great window for an ID pocket (see page 95) and a surface for a dry-erase board (see page 212).
