Montgomery County DD Awards Ashley Miller, Supports Coordinator at The Arc Alliance

Ashley Miller has been a Supports Coordinator for 7 years. During that period, she has shown time and time again that she is truly a force to be reckoned with. Ashley works tirelessly with the many challenging scenarios that present to her. She routinely goes above and beyond when working with her people. Ashley’s first order of business each day is ensuring that the individuals that she works with are able to live the life that they choose.

A couple of years ago Ashley had the pleasure of working with a young lady from Nepal. Her parents were forced to move back to Nepal to care for another child. She was left in the care of her amazing brother. Ashley tirelessly worked with her on applying for citizenship and ensuring she had all documentation in order. Ashley didn’t stop until she was recently awarded US citizenship.  As her brother said to us:

“I can’t express how appreciative we are in words. To say the least, she is a remarkable individual. She is a generous, kind, and open-hearted person. I’m grateful to my sister’s lucky star that Ashley came into her life. It may sound corny, but my sister would not be who she is today if Ashley hadn’t influenced her. I’m sure Ashley doesn’t need this letter to show you what a wonderful person she is, but I felt compelled to write it, nonetheless. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of letters like this about Ashley, which should tell you what sort of wonderful person you’re dealing with. And, once again, thank you and thank you to The Arc of Alliance for everything, as well as for employing people like Ashley.”
