Everyone has dreams of living independently in their own home. In the past, young adults had few options except to continue to live with their parents or move into a group home. Now, it’s possible for a person with a disability to live in their own apartment, house, or co-op with the individual supports that they need.

This presentation will focus on describing some of the key puzzle pieces that should fit together when creating a successful housing model. David Gates, Esq., Policy Director of the PA Health Law Project, will describe useful housing models including co-ownership, limited equity co-ops, leasing co-ops, subsidized rentals and waiver funded homes. Sources of funding for home ownership, co-ops and rentals, as well as funding for home modifications and assistive technology will be described. David will also review some of the new housing models that are emerging throughout Pennsylvania including HomeWorks in Montgomery County and Trinity in Columbia County.

RSVP by either booking the number of spaces you will need here or by calling The Arc Alliance at 610-265-4700 and speak with Jeanne.
