Meet Brenna, a kind and determined 22-year-old woman with an intellectual developmental disorder who has transformed her love of jewelry-making into a way to honor the military. For years, Brenna crafted jewelry for the pure enjoyment of her family and friends, but recently she felt called to do more. Living at home with her supportive family—Brenna also works part-time at FlagZone, LLC in Gilbertsville, where American flags are made.

Brenna’s family has deep military ties, having multiple grandparents in the line of service. Inspired by her family connections and her own passion, Brenna wanted to give back to military women and the wives of those who serve.

Her patriotic spirit and jewelry-making talent gained attention when a family friend with ties to Camp Lejeune, NC, connected her with soldiers stationed there. Alongside a heartfelt note for their safe return, Brenna sent a piece of her jewelry with a personal message to each service member. Her first box of handmade bracelets and earrings, sent in July, was met with gratitude, as these pieces were a small but cherished reminder of home. Brenna is currently creating more jewelry for a second shipment to Camp Lejeune.

Brenna also helps with her mom and aunt’s craft business, Within Our 4 Walls. She’s always willing to assist, whether it’s cutting ribbons, organizing floral arrangements, or lending her creative eye. At holiday craft shows, Brenna proudly displays her jewelry and eagerly discusses her handcrafted creations with potential customers.

The Arc Alliance staff, both past and present, have continuously supported Brenna with kind encouragement, often wearing her jewelry and cheering her on as she builds her confidence and hones her skills.

If you’re interested in viewing Brenna’s jewelry, check out her work through Within Our 4 Walls on Facebook. Brenna’s creative spirit is infectious, and she’d love to share her unique creations with you!
