From Support to Success: Laurie’s Journey to Employment
Laurie is a vibrant and independent woman who has been making a difference both at work and in her community. For the past two years, Laurie has worked full-time at Cleanlogic, a purpose-driven company that manufactures bath and body accessories with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion. Cleanlogic’s mission is clear:
“Our mission goes beyond skincare – it’s about empowering lives and reshaping the narrative for individuals with disabilities.”
At Cleanlogic, Laurie helps assemble product packaging and takes great pride in her work. She thrives in the social environment and has built strong connections with her coworkers—turning coworkers into friends.
Her supervisor, Lylian, shared:
“Laurie is always enthusiastic about work. She embodies Cleanlogic’s values and is ALL IN with anything she does. She brings it every day.”
Laurie lives with a Life Sharing provider, the provider’s son and their dog. She’s been part of the Life Sharing program for nearly 20 years, enjoying a stable and supportive home life that fosters her independence.
Outside of work, Laurie enjoys crocheting—especially baby hats and scarves—listening to music, and watching TV (she’s a big fan of Everybody Loves Raymond). She’s also a big Penn State fan!
Laurie has received Supports Coordination from The Arc Alliance for over 10 years. Through our support, Laurie was connected with Access Services, where she received a job coach who helped her build the skills and confidence needed to pursue competitive employment. That connection ultimately led Laurie to her job at Cleanlogic—a position she now thrives in.
Laurie is a powerful example of what’s possible when people with disabilities are supported to live, work, and thrive in inclusive environments.
