The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education is pleased to announce the following training opportunity:
Planning for the Future – Transition Resources, Tools, and Community Mapping
December 2, 2015 – PaTTAN Pittsburgh (9:00 am – 1:00 pm)
December 3, 2015 – PaTTAN Harrisburg (9:00 am – 1:00 pm)
December 4, 2015 – PaTTAN King of Prussia (9:00 am – 1:00 pm)
During this session, participants will learn about the Pennsylvania Bureau of Special Education’s secondary transition projects, programs, and activities designed to ensure the success of middle and high school students receiving special education services and supports throughout Pennsylvania. Highlighted in this session will be the Planning for the Future Checklist. The checklist is designed for youth with disabilities, as well as their families and IEP teams, to ensure they are reviewing all aspects of transition planning at age appropriate intervals. This session will also feature representatives from the Pennsylvania Community on Secondary Transition interagency team and an interactive dialogue regarding understanding and accessing community resources to support transition age students.
