Does Harrisburg Care? It doesn’t seem like they do!

Hey Harrisburg, where's the budget? It doesn’t seem like many of our elected officials care about individuals with disabilities. As they are on break without a budget for the state, the citizens of Pennsylvania are the ones who suffer. Rep Gene DiGirolamo a true friend of those with disabilities has introduced a compromise budget which is currently not getting attention. DiGirolamo indicated that he has heard, legislators are not really hearing from constituents regarding supporting the restoration of the 10% cut to the block grants. We can change that today! Harrisburg and political negotiations of the budget impasse might feel like a world away, but the impact of the budget impasse is being felt in every county. The PA General Assembly is currently on break [...]

Chandler’s day in Harrisburg, The Arc’s Advocacy & Policy Day 2015

Hello everybody, Today my blog will be about my day in Harrisburg. Monday April 15th, The ARC Alliance and I went to Harrisburg to speak with some of our legislators. We talked about legislation that we want passed, just like we did when we went down to Washington. Mom and I went down to Harrisburg a day earlier which was good, because like many who travel we had problems checking into the hotel. Mom and I stayed at the Crown Royal which was where the event was held. When we got up to our room, it was a decent size, not too big not too small. The hotel room also had a decent size television with a lot of channels to choose from. In [...]

How to ask TD Bank to donate to The Arc Alliance

Asking TD Bank to donate to The Arc Alliance is easy. All you have to do is: Call TD Bank at 610-792-1455  and ask for Brian Ewing.  Brian, or any associate at your local Branch, can help you. Tell them that you want the bank to donate to The Arc Alliance through the Bank's Affinity Program. If you are an existing business or individual depositor in any branch in the U.S. just give them your name and account number(s).  That's it - you are done.  Just one call. If you are not yet a depositor, Brian (or anyone, at any branch) can help you open an account.  Then just ask the Bank to donate to The Arc Alliance as explained above. Eligible accounts include [...]

The Arc Alliance is pleased to announce our relationship with Subaru of America, through our partnership with Welsh Subaru of Limerick PA. The promotion runs from November 20, 2014 - January 2, 2015, with proceeds benefiting identified charities. Hearts of Advocacy – Valentines Day extended!

Yesterday on Valentines day we distributed an opportunity for people like you to support The Arc Alliance Advocacy efforts. Hearts of Advocacy is an easy way for you to financially assist others in your community who need advocacy support.  The local, state and federal systems of support for those with intellectual and developmental delays and disabilities are broken! Currently we see cuts in the state budget that affect those with the greatest need and the least resources. Your assistance and support of the Hearts of Advocacy will enable The Arc Alliance to continue to serve those in our community with the greatest need! Keep the Valentines day spirit alive! Follow the link to the interactive page!
