Empowerment Award Descriptions

This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated lifelong achievements in the area of developmental disabilities and has contributed to significant improvement of the lives of people with developmental disabilities. The Arc Alliance’s most prestigious award.

This award is given to a person in the community who has demonstrated leadership and persistence in the effort to advocate for empowering persons with developmental disabilities.

This award goes to an individual, organization or business in the community that exemplifies Frank Mascaro’s compassion, generosity, and extraordinary work supporting and or advocating for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Presented to an employer in our community that has facilitated the hiring of a person with developmental disabilities, allowing them to achieve greater independence though the workplace.

The Keith Staff Impact Award honors the legacy of Keith Kercher, whose unwavering commitment to advocacy transformed countless lives within the IDD community. For over 15 years, Keith brought compassion, humor, and tenacity to his role, treating each individual as if they were his only case and becoming a true part of their families. As a father of a son with autism, he fought tirelessly both at home and in his work, educating those around him to ensure everyone he served had opportunities to achieve their dreams. Keith’s legacy lives on through this award, celebrating staff at The Arc Alliance who embody his fierce dedication to inclusion, advocacy, and the pursuit of “what’s right” for each individual, every day.

The Exceptional Provider Leadership Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership in supporting individuals with disabilities. This award honors those who set a standard of excellence through compassionate care, innovative solutions, and a commitment to empowering the people they serve
